Fresh Water

Fresh water is a term that can mean different things. In most situations when we talk about fresh water we are referring to drinking water that is fresh or has a refreshing effect for us. On the other hand we can also talk about a more general term, which is usually spelled “freshwater”. Freshwater is basically a term that links every single water body. This includes streams, lakes, rivers and ponds. You have to be aware that brackish water and seawater is not associated with freshwater. Basically freshwater contains different concentrations (in most cases very law) of dissolved solids and salts. Desalinated seawater can also be considered as freshwater.

Now talking strictly about fresh water it is important to understand that there are different aspects that we have to think about. In most situations we drink because we are thirsty and we do not really care what type of liquid we consume as long as it removes the feeling of thirst. High quality fresh water can be consumed from tap water, different wells or bottled water. How much we like the water we are drinking is linked to our own personal tastes. What I might enjoy drinking you might not! On the other hand it is very important that we understand the fact that fresh water is usually a lot better for our body when compared with a lot of sodas out there. All nutritionists out there will recommend that you consume fresh water instead of soda.

The problem is that even tap water can not be very beneficial for us. Unfortunately we are dealing with a lot of pollution all around the world and the water supplies can be affected. In this case we recommend that you test the water that comes into your home in order to make sure that it is of the needed quality. If not, you can always install water filtration systems. The good news is that there are many good water filters out there and we basically have different types of filters that can be used in different circumstances. It is your responsibility to make the needed research so that you can find out exactly what type of water filter will aid you. By installing a good water filter we basically make sure that our tap water is always what we consider to be fresh water, not to mention it being a lot healthier than it probably is at the moment.
