Our hair and nails are very good signs of how good our general health really is. This is because these are the last places where important nutrients are sent by our bodies. If there is some sort of problem that requires extra vitamins and minerals or if we simply do not have enough vitamins and minerals in our bodies the immediate impact will be bad hair and nails together with a decrease in speed of growth. The topic of vitamins and minerals for hair and nails is one that needs to be analyzed from two directions. The first one relates strictly to nutrition and the second one needs to be various external factors that can have a damaging effect on both fingernails and hair.
All vitamins and minerals are important for our bodies and thinking that you only need to supplement those that are directly required by hair and nails is a bad approach. There are a lot of people that are doing this when they see that their hair and nails are no longer perfect. Such a moment can lead to a misinterpretation of the signs and a focus on products that are aimed towards hair problems and hair care. The correct approach would be to have a proper diet then to supplement what you are missing with dietary supplements that will provide you with the nutrients you are not taking in through food. This fact alone will make your hair and nails better but if they are still not looking strong and healthy we need to go further with the analysis.
The external factors mentioned above can be numerous. We live in a world where we are exposed to the elements and the surroundings are not always good for our hair and nails. To make it even worse, some hair styling products we use are virtually destroying our hair quality. It is true that we will look better but we need to ask ourselves with what price. As time passes hair and nails can become damaged and nothing can be done under such circumstances. A good approach to such a situation would be to only use styling products when they are needed and this includes painting your nails as this action robs them of light and air (two things essential for strong nails). Now talking about hair, we have hair care products and hair styling products, which are two different things. Do not think that they are similar as the effect on one’s hair is different. If you start using proper hair care products and take care of your nails and still they are not healthy things can be even more serious. We might be dealing with a medical condition so you should consult a doctor.
The good news is that most hair and nails related problems will be solved by taking supplements that have the proper vitamins and minerals needed for good growth and protection. Combine this with good care products and in 90% of cases the situation will be a lot better.
