What Vitamins Women 30 and Over Should Take
Everybody needs vitamins but there is one problem that can be found in the quantities obtained. We all need a little extra as there is little chance you are getting all you need from your diet. Dietary supplements need to be included in every woman’s day to day activity plan. First on the list needs to be folic acid, one vitamin that is highly important, especially in pre-natal care and 3 months after getting pregnant. Women should take somewhere around 500 mcg of folic acid daily in order to reduce the risk of heart disease, depression, cancer and memory loss. Besides this B vitamin you will also have to take in small increases of vitamins A, B6, B12, C and E. While these are highly important when talking about both men and women, you should know that vitamin D is one that is more important to women due to its help in absorption of calcium. This vitamin needs to be taken in the needed quantities by all women 30 and over due to the fact that it strengthens bones and directly reduces the risk of developing colon cancer and osteoporosis, one condition that is common starting from this age. Vitamin D also aids as it helps maintain vision while reducing the severity of symptoms felt during PMS. To put it simple, women aged 19 to 50 need around 200 UI daily while those over 50 should increase it to 500 to 800 UI.
It is true that some vitamins do not need to be taken in on a daily basis. The problem is that those that are needed daily are more important and this goes especially for women. With this in mind and considering the fact that when women age they will need higher quantities of certain vitamins, you need to look for a good multivitamin supplement that delivers everything you need. The best solution would be to purchase a product that comes with a formula especially designed for women although one that is created for both sexes can also be highly useful. Never neglect your diet as it can also get you the needed vitamins while supplements have to stay supplementary.
Women 30 and over will also need more than vitamins and we must never forget that. We have to put in various minerals as well like calcium, zinc and magnesium together with other nutrients that can make a difference, like coenzyme q10. Make sure that minerals are also included on the ingredients list of your dietary supplement, do not neglect regular food and all should be perfect.
