Essential Vitamins for Men
It does take more than watching calories when talking about eating well. Food is the one source that should be looked as the main one that gives you the nutrients the body needs in order to be healthy and strong. If you do not eat the right foods your body will become deficient in one or more essential vitamins for men. This can lead to side effects that are not at all pleasant like bone loss, eye problems, anemia, sexual problems and the list can go on. The good news is that we do not really need to constantly look at labels and calculate the amounts we are getting in most cases. A healthy diet based on vegetables, fruits, whole grain cereals and lean meats combined with a good vitamins supplement for men is the key to a long healthy life. Let us take a look at some of the essential vitamins for men and why take them in. Some of them are essential vitamins for women as well although differences do appear.
The king of all vitamins is always needed. We are talking about Vitamin C. Whenever a problem appears vitamin C is bound to be good for it. This is because it boosts our immune system and also provides help when talking about repairing teeth, bones, connective tissue and cartilage. Deficiency of vitamin C is usually noticed when you feel joint pain, heal difficultly, lose hair, lose teeth or have anemia. We also need vitamin B2 because it helps the body in the process of transforming food into energy while promoting good sight, a good working nervous system and healthy skin. If you lack B2 from your diet you will notice that cracks will appear in the corners of your mouth, skin rashes are possible, you will have a constant sore through, a hypersensitivity to light and a purple tongue. Be sure to get vitamin A in your diet to keep the lining of your mouth, skin and nose in top shape while having an impact on vision and keeping the urinary and digestive tracts working as they should. Deficiency of Vitamin A leads to night blindness, flaky skin, a decrease in appetite, dry skin, kidney stones and anemia.
Never forget vitamin D if you want to maintain your muscle strength and the strength of teeth and bones. This vitamin is essential for men and women because it helps our body to absorb calcium. Deficiency is noticed especially in children as they develop rickets and adults end up with osteomalacia. Make sure that you put in vitamin K as well as it is crucial for the body’s blood clotting ability. If this is not working well we could bleed to death from a simple cut that would usually regenerate in minutes. A deficiency of vitamin K is spotted (leaving the bleeding part aside) usually due to a tendency to bleed easily and easy skin bruising. Never forget vitamin B12 as it is critical in the synthesis of white and red blood cells while also helping our body create DNA. Deficiencies are noticed thorough symptoms like anemia, loss of appetite and constipation while severe cases can lead to neurological symptoms.
