What Vitamins are Healthy for Your Heart?
This is one question that did not have an answer in the past but now we can say for sure what vitamins are healthy for you heart and what are not. The truth is that this statement is not correct because all vitamins are highly important for your general health so you should not consider any of them dangerous for your heart, as it is sometimes said. Now let us take a look specifically at what vitamins are healthy for your heart.
Many people consider Vitamin E to be the most important one for our hearts. It is so because it helps control oxidation and the dangerous build up of bad cholesterol in our arteries. To put the entire process in simple terms, oxidized cholesterol ends up sticking easier to the walls of our arteries when compared with not oxidized cholesterol. Vitamin E is an antioxidant so it aids us in keeping those arteries clear. When build up of oxidized cholesterol appears and it is in high quantities it can cause a blockage. This can immediately lead to serious heart disease and general health problems. In some cases it can be life threatening so a heart attack can always happen. Vitamin E helps us a bunch when it comes to our hearts.
Vitamin E works best to aid our heart if in a connection with Vitamin C. What is interesting is that Vitamin C is a huge help in numerous processes inside our bodies. It is also an antioxidant and it helps defend us from colds and problems linked with poor heart health and high cholesterol. It simply destroys the free radicals that go through our bodies and damage cells and organs. There is even evidence that suggest that it helps boost the effect of vitamin E, this being the link with the other antioxidant in connection with a healthy heart.
Together with the two antioxidant vitamins presented above, you will also need B vitamins. If you take enough folic acid on a daily basis you will see that it does reduce the risk of heart disease in some individuals. Combine this with sufficient intake of vitamins B6 and B12 and you are on your way to having the necessary B vitamins that are healthy for your heart. You can find vitamin B6 in chicken, fish, wholegrain cereal, eggs and liver. Needed vitamin B12 is available in dairy products, yeast extract, dairy products and fish. Also, keep in mind that vegetarians will suffer from a B12 deficiency if not supplemented with multivitamins and B complex supplements as B12 is not found in plants. Yeast extract is a good solution in this case. Always remember to have the right quantities of all vitamins that are healthy for your heart in order to avoid nutrition caused heart related problems and you will make a huge step towards leaving a healthy life and reducing heart disease risk. Always combine with supplements if needed and if problems appear do not hesitate to contact a doctor!
