Biotin (vitamin H) has the role of normalizing the lipid and carbohydrates metabolism. The biotin (vitamin H) is synthesized from intestinal flora and also gets assimilated from alimentary products like egg yellow, liver, peanuts and fresh vegetables – cabbage, mushrooms, carrots, tomatoes and spinach.

Actually the role of biotin (vitamin H) is that of taking the necessary amount of energy out of the eaten aliments, braking apart their nutrients and helping them become ‘readable’ by our body. So in other words it helps our metabolism assimilate essential nutrients that come from other sources. At the same time, it is important for hair growth, skin health and when treating acne. In medical treatments, vitamin H is indicated for skin rushes of the adults, children and babies and also as a fortifying treatment in case of unexplained tiredness.

If someone is lacking biotin (vitamin H) that person should present a very dry skin with red marks, a lack of appetite, unexplained weight loss and sudden tiredness episodes. Very little persons lack vitamin H, because it can come from many variant sources. All the side effects of lacking biotin can lead to metabolism deregulations, anorexia or accentuated hair loss. Also, very low levels of vitamin H can cause a general weakness and sometimes insomnia and depression. Sometimes, in case of severe depression that may or may have not been caused by the lack of biotin, taking this alimentary supplement will produce spectacular results.

People that use to eat roar egg white are predisposed to losing biotin (vitamin H) because the egg white contains avidin, a substance that destroys biotin. So, the egg white acts like a sort of anti - vitamin H. If a case of overdosing should be registered, administrating egg white or directly the substance contained by eat would solve the problem very quickly.

Vitamin H is essential for persons that have fragile and breakable fingernails. This is why it is often used in various nail treatments. Also, numerous hair masks contain vitamin H, as the fact it stimulates hair growth and stops the excessive loss of hair is already known.

The best sources of biotin, besides a healthy intestinal flora, are red meat and fresh fruits and vegetables. This vitamin helps degrading nasty fat acids and glucose and amino acids, stimulating protein synthesis. It can produce carbon hydrations in molecules, renewing this way our body’s reserves and it acts like an anti aging agent for our hair, slowing its whitening process.
