Vitamin B6 Supplements
Vitamin B6 is highly important for our body. Although the same can be said about most vitamins, pyridoxine has to be considered more than most nutrients out there. This vitamin will provide weapons you need in order to fight a lot of possible conditions so you must make sure that RDA is properly met. In most situations this means that you need to take in somewhere around 50 and 100 mg daily. Dosage that is lower than this can lead to deficiency while higher doses can eventually cause toxicity. We do recommend that over 50 mg of daily Vitamin B6 supplementation is divided into more than one dose.
Most of us know the fact that pyridoxine is a water soluble vitamin. This does mean that excess will be naturally eliminated by the human body. The problem is that if you overdue on taking vitamin B6 supplements you might be faced with pyridoxine toxicity. This is very dangerous for some people because it is known to cause nerve damage to your extremities. Although it is reversible, it will still cause a lot of trouble. You should also know that doses that are around 200 mg daily can bring in numbness and tingling in feet and hands. The good news is that these symptoms only appear when long term overdose is reality. As soon as dosage levels will be reduced the symptoms will disappear.
The good news is that vitamin B6 supplements are available in most locations where vitamin products are sold. Some specialist might recommend you to take B6 supplementation alone as opposed to the regular solution that sees pyridoxine included in a product that has all B Complex vitamins. What you basically have to do is take a look at your diet. If it is varied then a good multi vitamin supplement will add that extra spice you require in order to keep staying healthy. On the other hand, whenever you are faced with the toxicity symptoms mentioned above you should immediately stop taking vitamin B6 supplements. In this case you should consult a doctor in order to see what the problem is and maybe choose another product that contains less pyridoxine.
At the end of the day a good, diversified diet combined with a good multi vitamin supplement is all that is needed for most of us in order to meet vitamin B6 requirements. Combine this with proper exercise and you will stay healthy and live a longer life!
