Riboflavin Deficiency Symptoms
Riboflavin is an important nutritional element that is more commonly known as vitamin B2. It plays an important role in many bodily functions including growth and development. Deficiency of riboflavin is called ariboflavinosis. In general it is a rare condition and generally is only found in instances where other water-soluble vitamins are deficient. There are a number of notable riboflavin deficiency symptoms. Some are mild and temporary while others are more serious. There are some long term risks that have been connected with deficiency. While deficiency has been connected to an increased risk of disease, riboflavin is being used to prevent and treat some other health problems. Studies have shown that individuals that consume higher-levels of riboflavin had reduced chances of developing cataracts.
