Vitamin B12 Benefits

Vitamin B12 can be obtained naturally from food sources of our daily diet, they can be consumed in the form of supplements or via injections. They are safe, inexpensive and reliable. A Healthy individual should ideally consume prescribed amounts of this vitamin on a regular basis for the balance in Human Body. Right amount of vitamin in our body ensures smooth functioning of vital metabolism processes. They balance the nervous system of the body against the DNA production. It even regulates the formation of the red blood cells in the Human body and maintains the energy levels.

Researches reveal that the inverse relation between vitamin B12 levels and homocysteine (an amino acid found in human body) results in endothelial dysfunction and eventually forms atherosclerosis. A balance is required to ensure that atherosclerosis is curbed. There are few supplements of Vitamin B 12 that increase the efficiency of the folic acid’s capacity to lower homocysteine levels. Researchers believe that an adequate dose of folic acid in conjunction with the vitamins helps to fight heart diseases and thrombosis. The synthesis of SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) depends largely on vitamin B12 and folate and is largely involved in our immune function and mood.

Furthermore there are few other benefits of B12. The primary need of it is to prevent pernicious anemia and an appropriate amount of this vitamin enables the Human body to produce red blood cells to a healthy level. It is also aids the production of DNA, that forms the building blocks of all cells genetic perspective. They even promote the normal growth and development of the human body and lack of these vitamins causes severe damage of nerves that may result in loss of memory, abnormal sensations and poor concentration. Additional advantage of these vitamins is that they boost the energy level of the Human body and is commonly injected to people suffering from chronic fatigue.

It is true that the levels of Vitamin B12 decreases with the increase in age. Hence as an act of security we are advised to consume supplements of vitamin to balance the metabolism phenomenon. It enhances the absorption ability of the body. The supplements assist the cognitive function and within this group the neurological impairment is healed. It is always good to intake Vitamin B12 with a B-complex vitamin and folic acid supplement. An important fact to know is that while taking Vitamin B12 the functions necessary for existence ar enhanced, an extra dose is not very harmful and is stored in body for future usage.
