Tropical Fruits

Exotic tropical fruits are preferred by the large public in the first place because of their special taste and flavor. Next to this there are, of course, other benefits, because tropical fruits can be real sources of health, most of them helping regulate intestinal transit, eliminating stress and preventing numerous medical conditions. Even if they are not as popular as traditional fruits, because of their slightly higher price, a small delight with tropical fruits once in a while can’t hurt. They can be consumed as they come but also under the form of fruit salads and they represent one of the most pleasant sensations of summer.

Some of the most popular tropical fruits also bring great gains to our health.

The pineapple

The pineapple is one of the most miraculous tropical fruits. Pineapple qualities are recognized as treatment for certain illnesses. The pineapple is also preferred in weight loss diets. It has very little calories but in spite of this it offers lots of energy to our bodies and slows down the hunger sensation. It also encloses many vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, beta carotene, the entire B vitamin complex and enzymes. Next to those it also contains iron, calcium, zinc and potassium.

It’s known as a great cellulite fighter and as a strong ally against high blood pressure, osteoporosis, rheumatism and some forms of cancer.

Papaya

The papaya is not as popular as the pineapple, but it can be found in every big store. This tropical fruit’s peel is yellow, its flesh smooth, very sweet and perfumed and it is a lot like the yellow melon, both in aspect and in taste. The papaya has very little calories and this is why it is preferred in weight loss diets. It also contains many anti oxidants and is rich in vitamin A and C, calcium, magnesium and potassium.

It is especially good in helping our liver function properly, raising immunity and helping us fight infections.

The coconut

It has been known and consumed for a while by people all over the world. If you remember from movies, the coconut was considered to be a life savior whenever the hero found himself restrained on a deserted island with no communication means and no food. It is not just a myth, the coconut milk is very nutritive and it can help us survive by both hydrating and feeding our body.

The coconut is high in fat acids, so people that are overweight or have high cholesterol should not consume it. The coconut is recommended for growth problems, in vitamin lacks and for people that need to do a lot of physical effort.
