Papaya

Also called the fruit of angels, the papaya has become very popular when its benefits and his power to maintain beauty and youth were made public. Originating in Central America, the papaya fruit started to be cultivated in most tropical areas, being highly appreciated both for his qualities and for his taste that reminds us of apricots or melons.

Rich in magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium and other minerals as well as in vitamins (it contains more vitamin C than kiwi) and with a high beta carotene count, more than the one of the carrot, the papaya fruit presents numerous benefits and some enzymes it encloses have digestive and anti inflammatory roles.

Very valued in cosmetics because of the big quantity of vitamin A, papaya extracts are used for products designed for maintaining beauty and youth , improving skin quality ( both because of the vitamin C and A and because of the high beta carotene) and reducing wrinkles, giving extra resistance to hair and nails.

Papaya encloses lots of anti oxidants and it has anti –cancer properties, detoxifying qualities and is a good energizer. It also ends the pro-estrogen secretion in women, presenting this way some contraceptive properties. Women in India, Sri Lanka Pakistan and other countries have been using the papaya fruit for a long time to avoid the possibility of an unwanted pregnancy.

The black seeds of the fruit are also edible, and their taste is slightly chilly. This is why they are used crushed, instead of pepper and have anti inflammatory properties reducing infections and analgesic ones, reducing pain. Because of vitamin C and certain enzymes, papaya accelerates the wounds healing and post surgery healing. It can also improve visual functions and prevent sun burns and skin cancer because of the same ever benefic beta carotene, a substance that deposits itself at skin level and has a protective role, reflecting negative rays from the sun.

The enzyme from the papaya fruit has strong properties that helps digesting processes and the hurries the assimilation of proteins. Because of this enzyme, papaya is recommended after large meals and also after eating meat, fat diary products, sauces etc. This enzyme shows good results when it comes to aiding the convalescence of patients that have gone through surgery, because it has a strong regenerative action.

The papaya is recommended for people suffering from bone conditions or heart problems. It helps regenerate bone tissue and regulates arterial tension, reducing the risk of cardio vascular strokes.
