Sports Nutrition Creatine

When it comes to sport nutrition creatine is a really popular supplement. It is actually the one supplement that sold the most in the past few years and it is easy to understand why. Creatine basically gained a lot of success thanks to very good marketing campaigns based on the benefits that this ingredient brings to the table. There are a lot of athletes that need creatine in order to get better and achieve great results in their careers. The only real problem stands in the fact that few people are educated in sports nutrition. Creatine can be very useful but only when properly used. There are only a few that actually know the truth about the effect of this supplement and how it should be taken. A lot of manufacturers have marketed it in such a way that it seems miraculous. The truth is that there is no supplement out there that brings in miracles. On the other hand, we do have supplements that should be included in your sports nutrition plan because of the benefits it brings. Creatine is one of those supplements.

Creatine is very important in sports nutrition because it will give you more energy. It is actually perfect for an athlete that wants to do more weight lifting, sprinting or any activity that involves a quick burst. When you take creatine supplements your body will be able to do more sets, more repetitions and lift more weights before fatigue settles in. If you are a sprinter you will gain benefits due to the fact that you will be able to eventually fire faster as you will run.

If you are an endurance athlete things change. We do not really know how creatine can aid you. The big question that appears is whether or not the supplement will buffer the build of lactic acid. This would really be a very big advantage for any endurance athlete out there. On the other hand, if you are practicing an endurance sport that really pushes you (for instance a marathon) you will love the fact that creatine will help you.

Keep in mind that sports nutrition aid coming from creatine will only appear if you are working out. The supplement will be of no use if you do not exercise. Unfortunately a lot of people do not know this and end up putting creatine in their sports nutrition plan without considering the highlighted fact. This supplement is not a drug that will do miracles. To put it simple, creatine gives the muscle energy for short term exposure. If you do not exercise the muscles then you will have no gains in taking creatine as part of your sports nutrition plan. The whole idea behind the supplement is very easy. It gives you an edge and you can workout more before you get tired and can not continue. This will bring in increase in muscle mass.

What you need to understand is the fact that creatine will not bring in huge results in a short timeframe. Most people will get to see results in the first month of using the supplement but this will only happen if your workout is proper. This basically means that you need to exercise intensely if you want creatine to aid. Sports nutrition should always be combined with a good workout and proper rest. You should also take into account the fact that creatine might not work for you. There are people that are simply not responsive to the supplement because their body already has a high base level of the substance. The good news is that there are few people that will fall in this category.
