Rheumatoid Arthritis Symptoms
In the case of rheumatoid arthritis, the symptoms come and go, depending on the swelling degree of articulations. When the tissues get inflamed the illness is considered to be active, and when the articulation inflammation can not be felt, the illness is regarded as inactive. A release can be registered spontaneously or after a certain treatment, and it can last for week, months or even years.
During release, the symptoms of this medical condition disappear and patients usually feel well. When the condition becomes active again, the symptoms appear promptly. This renewal of the illness and its symptoms is called an outburst. When the rheumatoid arthritis is active, symptoms like tiredness, lack of appetite, fever, pain in the muscles and articulations can appear. The rigidity in muscles and articulations usually appears in the morning and after periods in witch the disease has been inactive.
During outbursts, articulations turn red, swell up, and become painful and sensitive. This happens because the linear tissues of the articulations become inflamed and they cause our body to produce too much articulation related liquid. Occasionally, only one articulation inflames and the disease can imitate the swelling caused by other forms of arthritis or some articulation infections. Chronic inflammation can cause lesions on bodily tissues. This situation conducts to loosing cartilages and weakening bones and muscles, finally leading to the deformation and destruction of articulations.
In very rare cases, the rheumatoid arthritis can affect the articulations responsible for stretching the vocal cords, and in this case the usual symptom is the loss of voice.
Because this is a systematic illness, sometimes rheumatoid arthritis symptoms might mean lesions at internal organs level.
Swelling at eyes and mouth level can cause these areas to get dry and to develop the Sjogren syndrome. The rheumatoid arthritis inflammation at lungs level can cause chest pains and annoying coughing with breathing difficulties.
Other rheumatoid arthritis symptoms can result in inflamed lung tissues that develop inflammation nodules growing within the lungs.
The inflammation in the tissue surrounding the heart (the pericardium), also called pericardia can cause a severe chest pain that usually changes in intensity when you lay down or rest. The rheumatoid arthritis can reduce the number of red and white globules in our blood. When the red count is very low, a large spleen will develop and the risk of infection will rapidly ascend.
Amongst the most common rheumatoid arthritis symptoms are the firm nodules under the skin. They can appear around elbows and fingers, where pressure is constantly felt. Although usual nodules do not cause pain, they can occasionally get infected and cause other diseases.
A harsh complication that can appear after a long time is the inflammation of blood vessels. The vessel swelling deteriorates the process that is responsible for bringing blood to tissues, leading to tissue death. The first symptoms of this illness are black lines surrounding the fingernails.
