Protein Purification
The world of weightlifting and bodybuilding supplements is a funny one. There are all kinds of terms, like protein purification, amino acid synthesis, and creatine loading that, to the layman, may sound like extraterrestrial mechanisms. This is even more astounding considering the fact that the general idea of weightlifters is that they are incredibly stupid and clueless. What is funny, however, is that terms like protein purification are often used to confuse these dimwitted meatheads into paying more for products that are essentially useless. For the record, protein purification is a term that is applicable in many instances to fitness, but it is still tossed around with disregard in order to hype up a product that is not as good as it claims.
The sad fact is that the vast majority of fitness supplements are useless. What is even more depressing is the fact that they are so expensive. In short, all you really need, in order to increase size and strength when working out, is a good weightlifting routine and protein. Protein is far and away the best workout supplement that has ever existed. Part of the reason is that it is so basic, while a larger part is the fact that it is the most essential part of muscle-building. You can take every workout supplement under the sun and still see no gains in bulk or strength if there is not enough protein in your diet. Muscles are literally created because of amino acids and protein (which is itself an amino acid). It is the cornerstone of fitness and it deserves all of the praise and respect that is continually thrust upon it.
In the same way that no fitness gains can be accomplished without enough protein, protein can not aid in increasing strength unless you have a good weightlifting routine. A weightlifting routine should be simple, but should also be effective. You should devote at least one workout to each main body part, though there are many great compound exercises, like the bench press and squats, which cover many muscle groups. You should train each muscle part twice a week, but you must always allow at least forty-eight hours of rest between each workout for that particular muscle group. Anything less may not be enough resting time for your muscles to rebuild properly. Coupling a workout like this with at least a gram of protein per pound of body weight per day will almost guarantee that you will see impressive strength and size gains continuously, as long as you keep working out.
