Beta Protein

Researchers have been trying to replace the organic construction of ordinary proteins struggling to make them more resistant to diseases and harmful factors and making use of different acids to create them. This way they want to achieve the next level in pharmaceuticals that may be able to cure various genetic and immune diseases and last longer when stored.

Amino acids found in nature are labeled as alpha acids; therefore the alternative structure was conveniently called beta amino acids. Using a variety of beta acids, scientists have been able to reproduce the molecular structure of some traditional human body proteins. These proteins have been studied and compared to natural proteins and their structures are similar.

Currently, there are thousands of drugs based on a certain beta protein that differs from pill to pill, depending on the intended final use. The advantage of these pharmaceuticals is that they are not recognizable by the immune system; therefore they won’t be eliminated or processed by our bodies. This means their effect will last a lot longer than that of their similar natural alpha proteins.

The final stages of tests that must be passed by these synthetic drugs can lead to finding efficient cures for various lethal diseases. Because their molecular chains are not broken apart by our organism, they can last longer and act more efficiently when interfering with damaged cells. The risk of getting much more injections than you can handle can be reduced to zero this way.

They seem like they are ready to promise a bright disease free future, but they are not so problem free as they might seem. Complications might appear, depending on the base amino acid used and the patient’s general state and indulgence. Beta proteins, if watched on a screen, look exactly like natural ones, but the acids they come from actually have one extra string compared to our DNA and RNA acids.

When trying to cure a certain disease making use of these drugs based on beta protein, side effects that are unexpected and undocumented might appear. But if the proteins are used simply for fitness purposes and swallowed in small quantities, the risk of harming the body is reduced to zero, mainly because the proteins consumed will be eaten up anyway by the body while it’s trying to keep up with the constant effort its muscles are exposed to. If future studies can demonstrate the beta strings are the answer, cures for many fatal diseases as AIDS may be found and used, helping the humans become a more powerful and stable species.
