Water

Scientifically speaking, water is a chemical substance and it is crucial for basically all life forms out there. When we talk about water we usually refer to it being in its liquid state. You should be aware of the fact that you can also find it in nature under its gaseous state (steam and water vapors) or as ice under its solid state. Water is found covering Earth in a percentage of 71 and you will usually find it in large water bodies like oceans or rivers.

Now talking strictly about the human body you should know that a large part of us is made out of water. For instance, our blood includes 95 percent water and muscle tissue around 75 percent water. Even fat comes with 14 percent water and our bones are constructed with 22 percent water. On the whole, the male body is typically made out of water in a percentage of 60 and the female body of 55. What is interesting is that there are a lot of diseases out there that will affect body water. By analyzing compartments or comportment of the body we can realize what problems we are dealing with.

The biggest problem with water is the fact that we really do need it. This is one nutrient that is crucial to anyone living properly. Unfortunately there are different factors that can influence our body water. For instance, athletes that are undergoing a highly intense workout might end up dehydrated if they do not pay proper attention to how much water they drink. To put it simple, you can survive longer if you are not eating compared to if you are not drinking water.

Water is the one nutrient that is usually not put into a nutrition plan. This is because different bodies need different quantities of water taken in daily in order to function properly. A basic rule of thumb is to drink water whenever you are feeling thirsty but take into account the fact that you might already lack too much water when thirst is felt. To put it simple, you should listen to your body as it will give you all the signs needed to understand exactly how much water you have to drink. We recommend that you avoid most juices out there and only stick with natural fruit juice. This is always better and it is also a very good source of minerals, vitamins and water.
