How to Take Liquid Vitamins
Taking liquid vitamins is not that special although there are some things that you will need to be aware of prior to even purchasing the products you want. There are some differences between them and regular pills although the basis is the same. We are dealing with a vitamin supplement of one or more vitamins that is aimed at supplementing our daily diet in order to give the body the needed nutrients to function well. Let us understand the facts we need to know and how to take liquid vitamins properly.
First off we need to talk about life span. Liquid vitamins will be unusable after a shorter time when compared with regular pill supplements so it is extremely important that you check the envelope for expiry date. When you see a special offer do not be eager to jump into it as you might end up with an expired product if your stash ends up being too large and you can not consume the products in safe time. With pills you can even store them for months or years before they will expire.
Now that we are safe taking liquid vitamins is extremely easy. You just have to read the indications on the label and respect what it says. Most liquid vitamin products will require you to take a dose once per day and some will even have a measure. For instance, one dose might be 50 ml of liquid vitamin product and the measure is of exactly 50 ml. Now the extra trick is to do some math. If you are already taking in other supplements be sure to read the ingredients list, especially the quantity per dose or per 100 ml, however it might be written. You wouldn’t want to take too much of some vitamins as it can lead to increased toxicity. On the other hand, you would not want to take in too less as it is not enough for your body. If the quantity you take in is a little higher than normal it is not a problem in most cases. Exceptions can be bariatric patients as they do need a higher RDA than normal and women that are pregnant as they will also need higher amounts of some vitamins, especially folic acid. It is also important to understand the differences between water soluble vitamins and fat soluble vitamins so that you can stay informed. For instance, water soluble vitamins are required on a daily basis while fat soluble vitamins are also stored in your body so that extras are sometimes formed without causing damage. Doing some simple math will eliminate such a problem if it is combined with a general knowledge about the food you take in and amounts of given vitamins in them. The good news is that water soluble vitamin excess is usually eliminated through urine so it will not cause problem. Not the same thing can be said about fat soluble vitamins although rarely will we notice a vitamin overdose.
As you can see, taking liquid vitamins is not difficult and it is up to you to choose whether doing it or not.
