Ischemic Heart Disease

Ischemic Heart Disease or coronary artery disease is a state where cholesterol deposits accumulate in the lining of the cell walls of the arteries. These full of fat deposits get put up regularly and erratically in the huge branches of the main coronary arteries that encircle the heart, hence are the chief source of the blood supply. This process is called atherosclerosis. As you probably already know, such a condition is very dangerous for us. This fallout in the ischemia (the inability to supply sufficient oxygen to heart muscle) can cause immense problems for our heart.

Absolute occlusion of these blood vessel lead to a heart attack that is called myocardial infarction. In some countries, this cardiovascular disease is the most important cause of death among both the sexes and coronary artery ailment is the key cause of these cardiovascular diseases. Myocardial infarction paves way for 35% of the deaths in men among 35 and 50. The death pace is greater for men than women amid the ages of 30 and 55. On the other hand, after 55, the demise rate for the men decreases but the tempo for women remains at a constant increase. Precise cause is unidentified. Nevertheless, at hand there are many risk factors. Taking control of these high risk symptoms has been revealed to decrease the severity and after effects of the disease. It is at the present apparent that decreasing particular risk factors cannot prevent coronary artery disease but delay its succession and severity after it has been converted into manifest.

Treatment of the lipid abnormalities has thus been exposed to set back the development of the deadly atherosclerosis and in a few cases has produced weakening of these atherosclerotic plaques. This type of disease does not show its symptoms in its early stages, but at a later stage some symptoms like heaviness, Angina pectoris, burning, and tightness of the chest that may also develop to the parts like jaw, neck, shoulder blade and arm are quite dangerous. Usually angina is bad when effort follows a feast. No matter what you are suffering from, it is highly important that you always pay attention to what you are doing, eat healthy and exercise often in order to avoid all possible heart diseases.
