Gout Remedies

Just like most other diseases, there are remedies you can do yourself to temporarily treat or prevent gout. You can consult with the doctor first for every symptom you get. Otherwise, do regular check ups to find out the potency of certain diseases in your body. Regular check up is really important, especially if you are getting older. People usually start to have changes in metabolism and body immunity at the age of 30.

Gout remedies are divided into some types.

1. Gout remedies to decrease the pain of acute gout attack. It is usually less painful if you have acute gout attack. So what to do is: rest the affected joint for 24 hours or until the pain disappears, take something to elevate the affected joint, and take medicines. You can take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to reduce the inflammation. Forget the aspirins as they would severe the symptoms by changing the uric acid levels.

2. Gout remedies to prevent future attack. Once you get the first gout attack, future attacks are likely to happen if you do not do anything. Here are things to do: lose the weight if you are over, limit or stop the prohibited foods and drinks, take more good-for-gout foods and talk to the doctor. Controlling weight is really important to prevent future gout attack. Follow the low-fat diet and make it your lifestyle. The diet should include foods and drinks that are good to prevent gout, while excluding those that increase the risk of getting gout. The most no is for meat, seafood, and alcohol. And then, talk to the doctor for medications you can take.

3. Gout preventive remedies for those who are not yet attacked. Doing preventive actions is always good since you may not know if the disease is there or you have big potency of getting it. Just treasure your health by following a healthy lifestyle. That means keeping the weight ideal and exercising regularly. Regular check up is also important to find any potency of diseases earlier, especially if you are above 30s. Check if you have the factors that cause to gout attack such as drinking habit, eating habit, family health record, etc. Even if you are living healthy life gout attack can still happen because the main contributor of gout is actually the overproduction of uric acid caused by metabolism problems. Also, your kidney should work to eliminate the uric acid. Some conditions can cause kidney to decreasingly eliminate the uric acid, which also leads to the accumulation.
