Gout Foods

There are some foods that are good to prevent gout. If you know there is potency of gout attack, either from the symptoms, lifestyle, eating habits, or weight, it is good to start changing towards the “good” foods soon. Moreover, if you ever had gout attack before, you should consistently manage the food intake and eat more of the recommended ones. Besides keeping healthy gout diet lifestyle, the gout foods can help your overall health and fitness.

What to Eat

The berries family can prevent you from gout attack by reducing uric acid and preventing inflammation. Besides, low-fat dairy products, nuts, flaxseeds, salt water fish such as salmon and tuna, vegetables, fruits, potatoes, whole grain foods, soy, beans, eggs, tomatoes are some of the foods to avoid gout. Try to include as many of them in your daily meals. Stock the foods so that you can pick up anytime when you feel hungry. It is easy, especially for breakfast and snacks. Interchange these breakfast ideas:
1. Sandwich made of whole grain bread. Add tuna, salmon, or boiled egg in the middle and some tomato pasta. Take fruit juice or plain water for the drink.
2. Whole grain pasta plus yogurt.
3. Boiled eggs and cereal, plus fruit juice and yogurt.
4. Skim milk with whole grain spaghetti.
5. Boiled potatoes, tomato pasta and vegetable salad. Take skim milk or yogurt for the drink.
6. Whole grain breads with low-fat cheese, plus a boiled egg, a handful of nuts or berries and fruit juice.

By increasing the consumption of the foods regularly and reducing red meats and seafood, you will also lose weight naturally. It is the right way to do a diet anyway. You do not limit the food intake. Instead, you eat more healthy foods and reduce the unhealthy ones. There are many variations of servings. Just browse the Internet to find. You will be able to make delicious meals with those good foods after some time, and there is no worry to eat. Be healthy and lose weight with no hunger.

What to Avoid

Stop the consumption of red meat and seafood. You can do so gradually by limiting the amount of intake. Red meat, seafood, and organ meats are categorized into foods that are high in purine and can trigger gout. Some vegetables such as beans, peas, mushrooms, spinach, and cauliflower have been reported to cause gout, but there evidences are still mixed with recent research. If you already get gout attacks, it is better to limit those vegetables consumption. But it should generally be fine if you just attempt to prevent gout since such vegetables also have big positive effect on your health.
