Gout Cause

Gout attack can last for days and the pain can really hurts. If you are not yet attacked, it is good to take preventive actions by changing your lifestyle. And if you are already attacked, it is never too late to change though. But you should really be careful because the attacks go more severe over time. For those who realize that their eating habit is potential to getting gout attack, then change slowly but sure. If you do not feel like getting enough motivation, see the causes of gout. There are some factors that cause gout attack. At the final of the cause, it is by too much uric acid in your blood. The condition is called hyperuricemia. Too much uric acid in the blood itself actually does not harm that much. Many people with hyperuricemia never even get gout attack. But if the cause is traced back, the factors that inhibit more probability that you will get gout attack are as followed.

1. If you have family who also gets gout attack. Gout attack is hereditary.
2. If you are male and over 30 years old. Men have larger probability in getting gout. The risk starts even after puberty. While women have lessened probability, most cases happen after the menopause periods.
3. If you are overweight. There is no doubt about this. Being overweight is also related much to your eating habit.
4. If you drink at least two “bad” drinks per day. The “bad” drinks include the alcohols, soft drinks, energy drinks, and sweetened drinks.
5. If you eat excessive amount of foods that are high in purines (mostly meat and seafood). Besides, taking low-calorie diet is also suspected to contribute. Also, If you smoke at least two cigarettes per day, you are more prone to gout.
6. If you regularly take medicines. Even the generic medicines count. Besides, medicines that have potency to increase uric acid concentration also contribute to gout. This includes medicines that cause rapid cell death, hold back body immune system and reduce the amount of water and salt in the body. The medicines are diuretics, aspirin, niacin, cyclosporine, and levodopa. People who are undergoing chemotherapy, surgery, and transplantation also usually take the medicines.
7. If you suffer from certain conditions such as high blood pressure, poisoning, chronic kidney disease, or certain syndromes, then there is more probability to get gout. Even those who lose weight rapidly in short time have more potency.
