Cherry Juice for Gout
Cherry juice is a popular remedy for gout. The effectiveness of cherry to treat gout has been suggested by many scientific researches. There are some compounds in the small fruit that are found to relieve pain in gout as well as other forms of arthritis. Healthy life style will certainly help to prevent gout, but if you realize you have the heritance for gout attack and need extra precautious steps, drinking cherry juice in regular term will help a lot. Besides, cherry is safe to consume, gout patients can also get other health benefits of the fruit.
We know gout is caused by accumulation of uric acid in the blood. Cherry helps to lower the level of uric acids, and thus reduces the risk of getting gout. Even just one serving of cherry per day can reduce uric acid level up to 15 percent. Those with gout or potency of gout can eat cherry in from of raw fruit, dried cherries, or cherry juice. Alternate the combination so that you do not get bored with cherry although the fruit is really yummy.
You might wonder how can cherry be so powerful in combating gout. It is mostly contributed by a compound in the fruit, namely anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are pigments that give the red color to the fruit. We have long heard that colors are good to eat, right? So what is outstanding about this pigment is the benefit to relieve inflammation and reduce uric acid level. There are also other health benefits such as to reduce the risk of getting cancers, heart attack, and also strokes. All are deadly diseases. And you can get a lot by taking cherry juice on a daily basis. The suggestions are not without careful studies. Many academic and scientific researches have come to the same finding about the benefits of cherry. Different serving of cherries is actually fine: the black cherry juice, red cherry juice, sweet cherry, fresh cherry, dried cherry, and even those cherries you find on the tarts and puddings. All have the same amount of pigments.
However, gout patients can hardly find any prescription that includes cherry. Never mind because you can get the fruit in many forms. Shopping malls, supermarkets, traditional markets, all have cherries in stock. You can buy the fresh fruits and then add it as an additional ingredient in cakes or puddings, or you can blend them into fresh juice. Stick to the consumption of cherry for weeks or even months. Even though the benefits of cherry can be different in different people, most have reported the decrease in uric acid level and lower gout symptom attack.
