Fruit Nutrition Facts

Nutrition is too broad a word to describe all of the aspects that have to do with keeping your body healthy. There are far too many subcategories that will lead you astray from the basic facts of nutrition. Understanding the differences in nutrition information related to fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy products is an incredibly difficult task, especially when faced with the misinformation that is prevalent when researching nutrition facts that are sponsored by food companies that are concerned about their own bottom line.

Fruit nutrition facts are generally considered to be the most objective among the many kinds of nutritional information that are available. Much of the information in fruit nutrition facts are neither misleading nor incorrect. For once, the rumors are true. Fruit is not only low in fat but also chock full of vitamins. Another factor that makes fruit vitally important is the fact that many fruits have a high fiber content. It can be hard to find fiber in many foods and fiber has been shown to not only reduce cholesterol but also to help prevent colon cancer, in addition to several other cancers and diseases. Fruit nutrition facts generally focus on the fact that fruit is a great source of water. Some studies on dehydration have found that over seventy five percent of the population is dehydrated. This may be a bit of an overstatement but it is true that there are many dehydrated people. Coupling regular water intake with proper fruit intake may be perfect for those of us who are dehydrated.

Fruit has also become increasingly popular among bodybuilders and weightlifters. While this may seem curious and odd at first, it should be noted that the fructose and carbohydrates in fruit make it ideal for synthesizing muscle creation and protein acceptance in muscle fibers. Fruit juices have also quickly become a favorite among people who use creatine. Creatine cannot activate itself inside the body unless there is sugar and carbohydrates present and fruit has both in their simplest and most effective forms. With that in mind, it only makes sense that fruit would find a widespread following in the weightlifting community. Fruit also works great as a post-workout snack. This is because, after a weightlifting session, the body must be refueled immediately. If it isn't, the body will respond by consuming muscle because there is no fat or carbohydrates present. Since fruit is easy to eat, tasty, and is digested quickly, it becomes the perfect snack to replenish the body's fuel reserves after a tough workout.
