Bad Fats
We have seen many people that think all fats are the same. Unfortunately we are also faced with a lot of commercials based on low fat diets. A lot of individuals are keeping diets that do not include enough fats. We mention this because fats are needed for our bodies. These nutrients are crucial and if we do not take them in we might be faced with a lot of problems. The key aspect that is usually neglected is that there are both good and bad fats. Even if fats should only make up around 25% of what you eat daily, if this quantity is based on bad fats we will be faced with increased risks of developing serious problems. On the other hand, if we take in good fats then this risk is reduced to an extent that will not cause us problems.
In order to eat good fats we have to know what to avoid. We basically have 2 bad fats that need to be known: saturated fat and trans fat. Trans fat is usually created due to the interference of a manufacturer. Liquid oil is turned intro solid fats like margarine and shortening. There are also trans fats that appear naturally in some animal foods but the quantities can be neglected. The true enemy for our body is the trans fat we find inside the products we buy. The reason why manufacturers choose such an option is that the product will last longer because of this. On the other hand, we do find saturated fat in most fatty foods out there, especially when talking about tropical oils, meats and dairy products.
Nowadays we have enough scientific evidence to prove that both trans fats and saturated fats can be labeled as bad fats. In the past we had to choose between them. Now we know that we must avoid them all at all costs. On the other hand, trans fats are worse than saturated fats. This is because saturated fat will raise both the good and the bad cholesterol levels noticed in our body. Trans fats only raise bad cholesterol levels. Unfortunately bad fats are included in a lot of foods that are really popular. This includes hamburgers, steak, pizza, ice cream cheese, lasagna, taco and many others. What you need to do is reduce bad fats as much as possible and aim towards replacing them with healthy fats every single day.
