The Diabetes Pancreas Dilemma
Despite it being one of the fastest growing diseases suffered by people in the world, many people are painfully ignorant when it comes to what diabetes actually is as well as the manner in which it manifests itself. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of these issues, as well as providing an explanation as to the diabetes pancreas phenomena.
Diabetes is best summed as a hormonal imbalance within the body which results in glucose obtained from the food that we consume being utilized and transported around the body in a less than optimal manner. The hormone in question is “Insulin” which is produced by the pancreas of the body and the different types of diabetes will be caused by either an excess or deficit of this hormone. Diabetes pancreas are two words that go together hand in hand, because pancreas is the lynchpin that is responsible for the management of sugar in the blood stream.
Diabetes type 1 also commonly referred to as “juvenile diabetes” is by far the most severe form of diabetes because the sufferer has to have an injection of insulin each and every day otherwise they could go into a coma or even die. The way in which the diabetes pancreas causes this particular variety of diabetes is due to the lack of sufficient insulin. There is a tendency among novices to assume that diabetes type 1 is caused as a result of no insulin the body whatsoever, more often than not the body will actually produce the hormone....however, it does not create enough to regulate the sugar in the blood to any safe or meaningful level. Thankfully, the one saving grace about this particular form of diabetes is that it also happens to be extremely rare.
Diabetes type 2 is far less harsh in its effects than type 1, and there is some degree of overlap between the two. Again, the diabetes pancreas is the root cause of the condition, although with type 2 diabetes the cause is either a lack of sufficient insulin, or where the body simply rejects the insulin as a matter of course. Thankfully, diabetes type 2 can be safely and efficiently managed by means of exercise and a carefully planned and nutritional diet which has been designed to keep the consumption of glucose to a bare minimum.
