Science has long established that many brain and nervous system disorders are a direct result of long-term nutrient deficiencies... |
The stresses of a modern life, natural depletion of essential nutrients from your diet, a decrease in your immunity and the subsequent vulnerability... |
The ‘standard’ medical solution for high cholesterol is to prescribe a statin drug. Whereas these are generally effective in lowering cholesterol… |
Diabetes Diet
The phrase diabetes diet is a curious one because it can be interpreted in one of two very different ways:
• A diet which is well balanced and designed in such a way to ensure that the recommended daily amounts of the various minerals and nutrients required by the body are consumed.
• A diet which is so saturated with fatty foods and refined sugar that the person who is eating such foods is on a one way road to developing diabetes.
Too many of us are too content to opt for instant gratification when it comes to food meaning that we do not take any sort of personal responsibility for what we eat and then end up ruing such a care-free attitude when we do eventually contract diabetes as a result of our diet.
Diabetes diet can and should also encompass the specially designed and created diet which is designed to help people who suffer from gestational diabetes and diabetes type 2 manage their symptoms more easily and effectively.
Diabetes as a health condition is caused whenever the hormone insulin (produced by the pancreas in the body) is either not created in sufficient amounts so as to safely regulate the sugar in the body or where the body rejects the insulin outright. Regardless of the type of diabetes that you may suffer, the fundamental aspect of any diabetes diet is that glucose should be kept to an absolute minimum so as to not overload the pancreas.
For many people who have just recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or gestational diabetes, the prospect of having to make significant and radical changes to their usual lifestyle is a major shock and this is perfectly natural after all, we humans do not relish change much. However, if you are diabetic then you need to ensure that you take personal responsibility for your actions and what you eat otherwise you are at a major risk of creating more problems for yourself.
A diabetes diet is not just about controlling the diabetes itself, but also controlling and managing the various other health conditions that linked to diabetes (which also happen to be directly influenced by diet) such as strokes, heart attacks and obesity. By increasing your consumption of the minerals and nutrients, you will be able to in turn reduce the other risks that may manifest themselves.
