Effervescent Creatine

Creatine is an incredibly popular supplement that has, in some ways, earned its place as the most popular fitness supplement on the market. Make no mistake, creatine DOES work, and it works wonders. Creatine helps the body to increase muscle mass and strength by allowing the body to repair itself more efficiently after each workout. What most people don't know is that actual muscle growth doesn't occur during a workout. Instead, the muscles grow and strengthen during recovery, because the muscle fibers that have been torn during a weightlifting session rebuild themselves stronger in order to better perform the task that destroyed them earlier. Creatine has even more benefits than that. If taken shortly before a workout, creatine can help each individual workout to be more effective, as the increased energy allows for more sets and repetitions of each exercise.

Some people, upon visiting a health store like GNC, might be taken aback at how many creatine products are available from a wide range of companies. It is understandable to feel overwhelmed at the prospect of choosing just one creatine product out of many, but these feelings are unfounded. In general, all creatine is pretty much created equal. Effervescent creatine is no better or worse than any other kind of creatine that is availabe. While it is true that effervescent creatine might have added supplements, like glucamine, most of these supplements are generally useless and are only there to increase the price. This isn't to say that Effervescent creatine is a bad product; it is just that creatine monohydrate, in its pure form, can't be improved upon itself. Buying a generic case of creatine from GNC or Wal-Mart will be just as effective as buying the most expensive creatine product available.

When taking creatine, make sure that you don't exceed five grams per day. Anything more is simply overkill, although anything less may not be as effective as you would want it to be. While it is true that some lifters swear by "creatine loading", wherein you consume around twenty five grams a day for five days, this process has no scientific backing. There is not, as of yet, any evidence that creatine loading is more effective than taking five grams of creatine a day. Trying it probably won't hurt you, though, and if you feel that it is more effective, than by all means keep it up. In the end, it is up to the individual to determine not only the best creatine product for them but also the best way in which to take that creatine.
