Creatine Effects on the Body

Creatine monohydrate is one of the most popular workout supplements in history. With the exception of whey protein, there is not a single supplement or product being sold in GNC or any other health store that is superior to creatine when it comes to building muscle and strength naturally. Creatine has long been the target of studies and tests that have tried to find some fault with the supplement, and so far there has been nothing found which would indicate that creatine is harmful or ineffective in any way.

The proof of creatine effects in the body is evident to anybody who has ever tried it. Creatine works fairly quickly and, when used properly, can help the body to become stronger with each workout. Creatine affects the body in numerous ways. After a hard workout, the body must rest and recuperate. This is the period of time in which the actual muscle-building process takes place. Lifting weights tears down the minute muscle fibers in the body, causing the body to have to repair itself. The muscle fibers are rebuilt but are made stronger, so that they are able to handle the load that they just performed with more ease. This is how weight training makes muscles grow in size and strength. What creatine does is allow the body to repair itself faster, so that one may workout harder and more frequently than normal, allowing for greater strength gains over a shorter period of time.

Another part that creatine affects in our body stands in muscle size. This is a bit more of a cosmetic feature, however. Creatine takes water from the body and pumps it into the muscles, making them inflate and appear larger. This effect lasts beyond the typical workout time, so a creatine user may appear to be stronger than he or she actually is.

Creatine, when used according to instructions, can be a wonderfully effective supplement for the average weight lifter. What is more appealing is that creatine has little to no side effects, making it ideal for nearly every person. Creatine can be found at any health food store and is now available at places like Wal-Mart and Target. If you haven't tried creatine and you are a bodybuilder, you should give creatine a try. It may not be for everybody, but it seems that everybody can benefit from it. Do yourself a favor and check creatine out.
