Coronary Heart Disease Risk

Coronary heart disease is a deadly condition that attacks many people around the world. As one of the biggest killers, many scientific researches and medical efforts have been made to fight the number of coronary heart disease cases. The research conducted has come to various conclusions about coronary heart disease risks you need to know. The findings also relate to other health problems that contribute to it such as the existence of cardiovascular disease. However, the statement still needs further studies to provide a solid conclusion. Nevertheless, some risk factors really affect your potency to get coronary heart disease. Not all of the risk factors can be modified or changed, but you can do the best to prevent it. Change what you can to lower the risk of getting this deadly disease. Here are the risk factors that lead to coronary heart disease.

1. Age. Coronary heart disease cases are often found in people above 50, with most cases of death seen among those who are 65 years or above. You can not change the fact that we all grow old. But by keeping in mind that age is a risk factor, we can change the way we eat, exercise, and rest so that there is a lower probability of suffering from coronary heart disease as we grow older.
2. Gender. Coronary heart disease cases are more often found in men rather than in women. However, women tend to die sooner than men if they suffer from coronary heart disease at their old age. Men usually get the disease earlier in life.
3. Race. Coronary heart disease cases are more often found in certain races such as the African Americans, Mexican Americans, American Indians, native Hawaiians and some Asian Americans. This is due to other contributing factors such as higher blood pressure, higher rate of obesity, and higher rate of people with diabetes. All the health conditions contribute to coronary heart disease.
4. Heredity. You have more potency to get coronary heart disease if your family has had a history of suffering from this disease. It also adds to other contributing risk factors.
5. Lifestyle. Coronary heart disease is strongly related to lifestyle as well. The good news is that this is something that you can control. Lifestyle and bad habits such as smoking, drinking, lack of exercise, and getting obese can increase your risk of coronary heart disease considerably. So review your day-to-day habits. You can change your habits gradually and simultaneously decrease the risk of getting the disease, as well as other health problems.
6. Other conditions also lead to coronary heart disease. They are: high cholesterol level, diabetes, high blood pressure, and stress. The easiest way to prevent further risks is to change your lifestyle. Get rid of all the bad foods and beverages from your diet. Turn to a healthy lifestyle: good food and regular exercise.
