Mandarin Oranges and Respiratory Diseases

Exotic remedies keep us healthy throughout the winter season. Although mandarin oranges are amongst the most unpopular fruits from the citric family, being totally eclipsed by grapefruits and oranges, scientific studies recently revealed the fact that these small and sweet tropical fruits are extremely benefic for our heath, protecting us against diseases like diabetics, arteriosclerosis and liver problems.

This is why nutritionists advise people everywhere to introduce a huge number of mandarins in their diets if they want to keep away alimentation disorders. Japan researchers have managed to prove the fact that the high beta-carotene level contained by mandarin oranges is very benefic for health protection as a whole, and to blood cholesterol problems in particular, problems that will lead sooner or later to a minor or major heart stroke if left unattended.

These little fruits are full of vitamin A; therefore they have benefic effects when trying to fight aging effects. Mandarin oranges are not only useful medically, but also when it comes to personal beauty and care. Facial masks with mandarin slices can reduce blood cholesterol and leave a beautiful oil free and clean skin

If you wake up in the morning after a party with a slight dizziness and a sickness sensation, the easiest solution might prove to be consuming 2 full glasses of mandarin juice. They are also recommended when you suffer from indigestion after a huge meal.

Close sisters of typical oranges, mandarin oranges enclose, besides the perfumed peel, a precious vitamin C deposit that is very efficient in curing autumn and spring respiratory diseases.

Regardless of the season, the exotic mandarin oranges are recommended to persons that have a weak immune system. Next to vitamin C, they are very rich in minerals that play an important role in the fight against infections. Persons that suffer from bronchitis can profit from the presence of vitamin C in their organism. Its role is that of blocking the effects of inflammatory reactions. Additionally, its anti-oxidant proprieties aid in neutralizing the toxic effects of pollution, witch are harmful especially to asthma patients.

The mandarin oranges are also great fruits to introduce early in babies’ diets. They are easy to digest and help in developing a healthy and strong immune system. If a slice or two or mandarin oranges is given to a baby before each meal, the colic caused by the early age can de attenuated and in time eliminated. For babies that only drink milk and don’t have teeth or don’t know how to chow , mandarin juice can replace the mandarin slices, but it has to be diluted with some tea, because of its high acid content that can do more harm than good to sensitive stomachs
