Corn Free Childrens Vitamins

When children grow up you do want to give them the best nutrition possible as this is crucial for proper growth and health. You always need to pay attention and the one problem that always appears stands in what your child likes to eat. This is where we can make a lot of mistake. For instance, a lot of parents are adding something to the mix, ingredients that are not that healthy but make regular food taste better. One of these ingredients is corn. You will notice that we have two main categories here: children’s vitamins products that praise on the fact that some are derived from corn while others are proud to have products that are corn free.

Now this topic is still on debate. The problem is not if the multivitamins supplements contain ingredients obtained from corn or not. This is one topic that is not understood properly. A lot of products for children are labeled as “Corn free” although all you see on the ingredients list is made out of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in various combinations possible. If you take a look at other supplements that do have nutrients taken out of corn you will notice the same thing. Vitamins are vitamins and it does no matter where they are taken from and your child needs this. Most children end up picky eaters and this immediately means that they will not eat everything that is given, will hide food and say they ate it and so on. Our job as parents is to make sure that our children receive all the vitamins, minerals and extra nutrients their bodies require. A corn free diet is recommended because corn is not that good for small children. The facts are as simple as this. Corn syrup is sometimes used as an alternative but we should avoid it as well. Corn free children’s vitamins are better for the overall development of the child into a teenager. Once he/she is a teenager or simply reaches school age we should not worry about corn anymore. All the nutrients we get from corn (which are good for teenagers and adults in moderate quantities) we can obtain from something else.

When talking about children’s vitamins supplements we must leave corn aside. This is because we are talking about vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and so on. We are not talking about food as multivitamin products are not food but nutrients needed to supplement a healthy diet. Supplementation means something good by definition. What we should be careful about is not whether or not we see vitamins obtained from corn but whether or not the vitamin supplement will offer what our child needs. Pay attention to what your child does not like eating and consider purchasing a good liquid vitamin supplement that will offer him/her those ingredients not obtained from the regular diet. Once we understand these facts we will surely do what is right for our children and we will be proud of this.
