Childrens Vitamins
By definition vitamins are ingredients that are necessary in given quantities for the human body working properly. We can say that they are actually vital for this. The human body requires vitamins in order to grow, see, feel, create connective tissue and bones, heal, keep the teeth from falling, fight against infections and so on. We could say that we need a constant supply from sources outside our bodies to obtain those vital compounds. We can not create enough vitamins with the body alone and we need to take them in from the environment, either by eating or through nutritional supplements.
The best solution possible is to get these vitamins from food although modern nutritional analysis might tend to say that supplements are far better. This is because when we eat we do not only take in a given set of vitamins but we also obtain other nutrients that are also important. Your child needs this and the healthiest way to give him the vitamins he/she needs is through eating whole foods. The problem is that it can be difficult to do because children often dislike a lot of foods that are important for the body.
Even if any child has periods when they can be considered picky eaters, you should know that the minimum known daily vitamin requirements are obtained from what they eat. The problem is that we live in a world where we have so much processed foods that we can not be sure of how much vitamins are left in them. We do eat a lot of vegetables and fruits that are grown with the use of special agricultural techniques that make them grow faster but it also minimizes mineral and vitamin contents. This is why we do need to consider giving our children multivitamins supplements in order to complete what they already get from food.
Most children will start to eat solid food when they are 6 months old and it is recommended that you add a vitamin supplement to their diet when they are at least 1 year old. This is because prior to that day most children will get enough vitamins from breast milk and formula. In some circumstances there might be a need for Vitamin D supplements for breastfed infants but this only happens when exposure to sun is not adequate. As children get to pre school years or during toddler years they are hard to handle as they are picky eaters. As time passes tastes change and a better diet, one that is well rounded should become a reality. During the early years of your child’s life it is better to be safe with the addition of vitamin supplements so that you will make sure that he/she will obtain all of the vitamins, minerals and other supplements needed to grow healthy and strong. Children’s vitamins supplements are available on the market in various dosages and will fit all the needs a parent have in making the child get all needed.
