And when we choose to take them directly from the fruit market and use them in our daily diet, we will see the advantages of the non-frozen fruits.

First of all, fresh blueberries are far more tasty and juicy than frozen ones. Of course, in certain seasons finding fresh fruits can be a problem, but when the blueberry season is on, we shouldn’t miss buying some and exploit all the known and healthy blueberry uses. They are not only delicious but also a major factor in most diets, due to the powerful substance their pigment contains, named anthocyanin.

Amongst the fresh blueberry uses that first come to mind is the easy way to swallow a huge quantity of antioxidants eating up to six times less than if you would try to get them from other fruits and vegetables. Fibers, which are also contained in large quantities by blueberries, are one of the best ingredients in attaining a healthy and active organism. It is far more benefic to obtain the needed daily fiber quantity from fresh fruits than from cereals, as they are better digested and do not cause any allergy concerns.

The antioxidants are the main source of benefits that make blueberry uses so valuable. Used not only in weight loosing diets, they stand for the best way to fight the free radicals that accumulate in our body through food or exposure to various agents, and fighting those harmful crops of our body will ensure a better way to prevent cancer cells from developing, to help our skin look younger for a longer period of time and to make us feel youthful.

It is important to remember that all these blueberry uses and their powerful well-being properties are highly minimized when the fruits are frozen or cooked. Therefore, products as blueberry pie and pancakes do not retain the natural ingredients that help us stay healthy and content. The best way to consume blueberries is to get them fresh and eat them as they come, no sugar or other sweeteners added. They can make an ideal breakfast, near some whole grain cereals or other benefic fruits, or the perfect snack between two meals or in front of the TV watching your favorite movie.
