Bioflavonoids
Uses Of Bioflavonoids
I am sure that you have read and heard a great deal about bioflavanoids, free radicals, and your health. But what does it all mean? What are the uses of bioflavonoids and what is a free radical?
Sources Of Bioflavonoids
There are numerous sources of bioflavonoids. Fresh fruits and vegetables, including green leafy veggies, root crops and citrus are all very good sources of bioflavonoids but that is not the end of the list. There are many other excellent sources for these nutrients. Some will surprise you.
Bioflavonoids are not one single compound like vitamin C for example. There are many chemicals or phytonutrients that are classified as bioflavonoids. So many, that items we use or could use everyday are overlooked. Here are some lesser known sources for these important nutrients.
Bioflavonoids
Bioflavonoids are a critical component of any diet. These substances neutralize free radicals (molecules that have an unstable and uneven pairing of electrons that cause cell deterioration). The great thing about bioflavonoids is that they are readily accessible to our bodies. All we have to do is eat them. A diet that includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables will be having sufficient amounts of bioflavonoids. It is when we ignore healthy eating habits that we run into trouble.
